I realize I'm getting off to a bit of a late start, but I was hesitating about running the Tour de Fleece this year -- in fact, I've been so discouraged by all the doping stuff going on in cycling lately that I've been seriously thinking about not watching the Tour this year.
However, I've had a couple of emails from folks asking if I would run it again, and I think that the only way to get out of the doldrums about cycling is to do something positive. Besides, I've got a bit of a stash sitting around that really deserves to be spun up.
So there we are:
I'm going to be doing things in a little more low-key way than last year, as I've just not got the time to organize prizes and whatnot, but essentially, the rules remain the same as in 2006. For more information, head on over to the Tour de Fleece blog.
Fortunately, the Tour de France is starting a week later than I'd expected, so I've got a little breathing space to get myself organized. If you're interested in joining, leave me a note in the comments or send me an email (link in sidebar). I'll be setting up a list of links to participants blogs, as well as revamping the Tour de Fleece blog a little bit (the banner still has the 2006 logo), probably once I get back from Podcasters Across Borders.
I was pleased with the response to it last year, and I hope to have lots of company again this year!
