That sound you hear...
...is me breathing a sigh of relief. The Other has been offered a job. Rather a bit less money than at the last one, but enough to pay our expenses, AND the commute is much more manageable than driving into Toronto was.
We would splurge and upgrade to a high-speed internet connection to celebrate, but it's not available in our area. So we will soldier on with the dial-up until it is.
And all this just in time to make a donation to TVO during their spring membership drive.

Congratulations to both of you! I hope everything starts to fall smoothly into place. Did you try for both DSL high speed and cable?
Happy Spring.

Oh thank goodness! What wonderful news! There's one more albatross you won't have to worry about.

Hmmm.... I've been compared to a turkey before, but this is the first time I've been described as an *albatross* ;-)
Yr fthfl srvnt,
The Other
PS to PM our ISP tells us that Ma Bell does not think we are within the local DSL service area yet ('tho one of the reps at the local Bell World store lives only a street or two away from us and *his* house is in the DSL area... one hand doesn't know what the other is doing, perhaps?) so they can't upgrade us to DSL yet.
As for cable internet... the only provider hereabouts is Rogers Cable, and someone near and dear to us all considers them to be... well, let's say she places RogersCo in the same league as Satan's spawn. So, until Bell figures out whether we can get DSL or not we're stuck with dial-up access...

The Other speaks! Next thing you know, we'll be asked to pay no attention to that man behind the curtain....
Rogers cable is satanic. Interesting choice: satan or dial up. *hee*
