Christmas at my house is always at least six or seven times more pleasant than anywhere else. We start drinking early. And while everyone else is seeing only one Santa Claus, we'll be seeing six or seven.

You may be familiar with "kir", a French aperitif made with crème de cassis and white wine or champagne (in the case of "kir royal"). Here's wabi sabi's festive Christmas version, The Reinkeer:
The Reinkeer recipe:
1. Pour 30ml (2 tablespoons, 1 fluid ounce) of Lakka Finnish Cloudberry liqueur into an aperitif glass.

2. Top up with 150ml (2/3 cup, 5 fluid ounces) of chilled dry white wine.

3. Enjoy! (Caution: Excessive consumption may lead to tiny Reinkeer hooves pounding on your "rooftop".)
Alternative recipes:
For a Reinkeer Royal, use dry sparkling white wine or champagne in place of the white wine.
For a Rudolph the Red Nose Reinkeer, substitute Puolukka Finnish Lingonberry liqueur for the Lakka.
