You may have noticed by now that wabi sabi is a bit of an eclectic place, where disparate cultures frequently rub elbows, so you shouldn't be suprised by the ethnic origins of today's treat: a couple of years back I concocted this recipe for Chai cookies. It's a fairly simple recipe to prepare, while the resulting flavour is anything but simple and spicily in keeping with Christmas despite their inspiration from Indian cuisine.

Mmmm... Yum Yum. Thanks a lot. I baked these and they are excellent. I used a bit of mixed spice as I had no star anise and added a bit of extra nutmeg and they were great. Easy to bake and fun to eat.Happy Christmas.

I didn't make these this year for the first time in a while -- I'm glad to hear you liked them, Judith.
And now I'm thinking I really should make a batch...
